  * Target to illustrate quantitatively, the impact of scaling  challenges that should be addressed.
      * we will want to leverage this in defining [[Challenges|challenge problems]]
  * Provide researchers ballpark guidance on scope of problems 
     (public, ground benchmark---not represent anyone's proprietary technology)

== Scope ==
  * composite random upset rates from various sources 
          (ionizing particles, shot noise, thermal...)
  * composite aging effects (NBTI, Hot Carrier, ...)
  * early lifetime failure (small devices, limits of burnin)
  * variation (we assume ITRS answer is adequate, but include here for completeness)
  * defects
  * ???  (other significant issues should be on the radar?)

== Possible sources ==
  * Review first principles
  * Extrapolate from published data in radiation community

== Composition ==
     We are guessing this team will need to be mostly academics and government/national lab types.  Perhaps some IC consumers?  Would an independent vendor like iRoC participate?
